ABOUT STD PANELS

The STD panel is a broad screening designed to detect several of the most common sexually transmitted infections. This panel includes testing for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis A, B, and C, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Unlike some other panels, herpes is not included in this test. Early detection of STDs allows for effective treatment, reduces the risk of transmission, and helps prevent complications such as infertility, liver damage, and long-term infection.

This panel is ideal if you’re sexually active, have multiple partners, are starting a new relationship, or haven’t been tested recently. It’s also recommended after unprotected sex or if you’ve been exposed to an STD.

The panel includes testing for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Please note that herpes is not included in this panel.

This test will show whether you currently have any of the included STDs, allowing you and your healthcare provider to begin appropriate treatment or monitoring if needed.

No special preparation is required. A blood and urine sample will typically be collected during your visit.
